We just found this place.. And its in our back yard so to speak. The browser says (A one of a kind authentic 19th century working farm) the real Florida..  It was so much fun.. when we got there the ladies were in the flower garden.  They had a peach tree that they were harvesting the peaches to can..The flowers were just beautiful

It says..The Dudley landscape is typical of the early Florida Farm with gardens, grape arbors, pecan and fruit trees, pastures, pinewoods, and croplands of peanuts, field peas, Sweet potatoes, and sugar cane.  It is a native habitat for animals such as deer, wild turkey, gopher, tortoises, bats and bluebirds.

In the mid 1800’s Dudley Farm consisted of rolling land covered with longleaf pine and wiregrass.  The longleaf pines provided material for all the Dudley buildings, fence posts, and split rail fences

Ponds, sinkholes, and an extensive network of cave passages permeate the area.  The rich organic soil with a clay and limestone substructure, coupled with the Florida climate, create an area well suited for agricultural use.(the last three paragraphs I copied form the liture they gave us while there.. It has a map and directions of the area…)

Started off today putting coke rewards on the coke site.. I have over 500 points..I personally don’t use the points… I started saving about three years ago because I think it is wasteful to throw away something that you or someone could use… At the time I was thinking of using them to get things for grand-kids.. well I never did and then at Christmas coke came up with Toys for Tots using the points so I turned them over to them… Have been doing it the past three Christmas.. Last year my family even helped.. I gave them my code and told them I needed this many more points to make 1000.. we did it thanks to my daughter-in-law.. we even opened cases not opened in our garage yet… www.cokerewards.com

Another thing I save is pop tops.. my great niece’s and nephew save them for school.. School sends them to Saint Jude… I would gladly save the cans if I knew of a local person who wanted them… We don’t recycle them as we have to pay for the truck to pick them up..Sorry I am into saving not spending…

The last thing we do is with Boxtops…The saving of these goes back to when my daughters were in grade school (80’s) Well my grandsons save them for school.. which ever class has the most in the week gets a sno cone party on Fridays…I send them in a baggy to their Mother and she splits them up between the two of them. The coupons are used to get something for the school.. Saving things that will go in the garbage is a waste… I don’t buy anything we don’t use… There are so many brands that have them… http://content.mk1932.com/m

Almost for got.. would of except I had to change it just now… recycling print cartridges.. HP.. they give you a free return mail envelope in every box.. if there isn’t one you can call 1-800-340-2445 and they will send you one or go to www.hp.com/recycle.com

When you buy 4 books in our online bookstore you get a 5th book free.. come see at  http://tinyurl.com/olyuny  or www.readerwave.com

This week we are having company (Mom says she’s not company she has been here more than three times). Coming up from South Florida.. we use to work together, before that she was my dance teacher. We have been Buddy’s for almost 10yrs… She is the third longest friend I have had… 1st was Berta who I have known sense high school and then there is Susie who I have known sense my oldest daughter and her son were in kindergarten together… We all live in different places now… One in North Carolina, one in Kentucky, one in South Florida and me here in North Florida….

The weather is cold and has my fingers stiff this morning… Maybe that is what is wrong with Twitter.. I write and the words come up a few seconds later instead of right away…   Oh we have lots of tomatoes and squash on our plants well we have tomatoes,  and squash is bloomed so far Gene found a chemical that keeps the worms away… that is so nice…. We saw a hummingbird yesterday.. they have not been coming around as much as they did last year… We have not figured out way… have seen one rabbit a couple of times… but not as much as last year… things are changing… please pray that they get better for people and animals… Gene is feeling better this morning… He found something to take to help him sleep. over the counter… I think it worked… he did not move so much in his sleep…I think he has that restless sleep thing… and his arthritis does not help… Oh I just heard him in the laundry room… means he carried the basket there for me to tackle… 6 loads later…. well bye for now … picture of the day will be………….
